I told her tonight
how I feel
and I knew what she'd say

I knew her reply
before she had spoken it
and it didn't dismay

I could feel bad
I had hoped for greater things, sure
but what I have is great

I felt relief
I wasn't sure if I was ready
so now, I'll just wait
